Who We Are

A community baby bank built on care and dignity

Jehovah-jireh Baby Bank — known locally as JJ Baby Bank — exists because no parent should have to choose between heating the home and buying nappies.

The name Jehovah-jireh means “the Lord will provide”. It reflects our belief that every family deserves to be provided for. We collect, check and carefully prepare pre-loved and new baby items, then pass them on through trusted professionals to families who need them most — from expectant mothers to parents of toddlers.

  • Clothing, equipment and hygiene essentials for babies and under-fives
  • Personalised packs prepared for each child's age, size and needs
  • Working alongside midwives, health visitors and social workers

How It Works

A simple, supportive referral journey

We work through trusted professionals so that help reaches the families who need it, quickly and safely.

1

Speak to a professional

Talk to your midwife, health visitor, social worker, GP or family support worker.

2

Referral is made

They complete our short referral form describing your child's age and needs.

3

We prepare your pack

Our volunteers carefully select and pack items personally for your family.

4

Collect with dignity

Your bundle is ready for collection or handed over through your referrer.

“When my son was born I had nothing ready. The baby bank gave us a cot, clothes and so much more — but most of all, they made me feel I wasn't alone.”

Our Values

What guides everything we do

Our values shape how we treat every family, volunteer and partner who walks through our doors.

01

Dignity

Every family is welcomed without judgement. Items are given as gifts, never as charity “handouts”.

02

Compassion

We listen, we care, and we treat each child as if they were our own.

03

Quality

We only pass on items we would be proud to use with our own children.

04

Sustainability

Re-using good baby items reduces waste and keeps them in loving use for longer.
