Who We Help

Eligibility

Our service is available to families with babies and young children (0-5 years) who are experiencing financial hardship and live in:

  • Lewisham Borough
  • Greenwich Borough

We Help Families Who Are:

  • Experiencing financial difficulties or low income
  • Refugees or asylum seekers
  • Fleeing domestic abuse
  • Young parents
  • Single parents struggling to make ends meet
  • Families affected by sudden job loss or illness
  • Anyone who needs support with baby essentials

No means testing is required. If you need help, we're here for you.

How to Access Our Service

There are two ways to request support from Jehovah-jireh Baby Bank.

Professional Referral

A professional working with your family can refer you to our service. This includes:

  • Midwives
  • Health Visitors
  • Social Workers
  • Family Support Workers
  • Children's Centre Staff
  • Housing Officers
  • Charity Support Workers

Self-Referral

You can contact us directly if you need support. We'll have a friendly, confidential conversation to understand your needs.

Is the service really free?

Yes, absolutely! All items are provided completely free of charge. We never ask for payment or donations in return for receiving support.

Will my information be kept confidential?

Yes. We take your privacy seriously. Any information you share with us is kept strictly confidential and is only used to help us provide the right support for your family.

Can I come back for more items?

Yes! As your child grows, their needs change. You're welcome to contact us again when you need larger sizes or different items. We're here to support you throughout your child's early years.

What if I'm not sure if I qualify?

If you're worried about affording baby essentials, you qualify. We don't do means testing. Please reach out – we'd rather help someone who was unsure than have a family go without.

How quickly can I receive items?

We try to respond to all requests as quickly as possible. For urgent situations (e.g., newborns, families in crisis), we prioritize faster support. Please let us know if your situation is urgent.

What items are available?

We provide baby clothes (0-5 years), equipment (prams, cots, car seats, highchairs), toiletries (nappies, wipes, baby wash), and feeding essentials. Availability varies based on donations, but we do our best to meet all requests. See our What We Do page for full details.
